Regarded as one of the most picturesque courses in Wales. How many Golf Clubs have their own Castle as a backdrop? Abergele Golf Club remains a firm favourite with both members and those who choose to visit from all over the golfing world. The delightful 18 hole Parkland Course boast many enviable features. The course was established in its present position in 1968 in the historic grounds of Gwyrch Castle with magnificent coastal views. The new USPGA greens, means that our members and visitors are able to play on smooth, dry greens for 12 months of the year. The greens design is such that they provide an interesting challenge to all categories of golfer with pin placement ranging from easy to difficult depending on the occasion........

Betws-y-Coed Golf Club, Betws y Coed, Conwy County
Set in the heart of beautiful Snowdonia and commanding stunning views of the Conwy Valley. A little haven of untempered beauty. Not for nothing is it known as the Jewel of the Nines. Betws is an immaculate course during the summer and is a real joy to play on. The pin positions are a challenge to any golfer, and the course isn't that long either which lets you enjoy the round without having to be under pressure to reach the greens in two. Don't forget your wellington boots, or maybe even a boat during the rainy season, the closeness of the river Conwy has advantages and dis-advantages! .........

Conwy Golf Club, Conwy, Conwy County
Situated on the North Wales coast, with spectacular views towards Conwy, Llandudno and across the sea to Anglesey, bordered by the Snowdonia hills, Conwy golf club boasts a superb links course, with excellent facilities for both members and visitors. This famous links course, renowned throughout the area as one of the most challenging of its kind is situated at the mouth of the estuary of the River Conwy. Several of the holes of the front nine skirt the estuary itself giving views to enjoy over the bay to Llandudno, Anglesey and beyond. As the course turns to the back nine many of the holes are played beneath the slendid backdrop of the Conwy Mountains. When players reach the 15th Tee the course enters into gorse country for what many have described as one of the most testing finishes in golf, but once overcome, the hospitality of the club beckons at the clubhouse situated behind the 18th green were tales of "if only" I had taken this or that can be debated in the 19th. The Club extends a warm welcome to all who play at Conwy and truly hope they enjoy this fine links course. Over the past twelve months we have invested in a fairway irrigation system, created new bunkers and reconstructed the existing bunkers; additionally our visitosrs will enjoy our refurbished changing facilities. In the run-up to our hosting the qualifying round for the Open Championship, (the first club in Wales to have this honour), there can be no better time to enjoy the challenge of playing at Conwy Golf Club.

Pitch and Putt, Great Orme, Llandudno, Conwy County
This is not a Golf Club but a Municipal "pitch and putt" course on the Great Orme, Llandudno. I have included the course on account of the fantastic views available from the Great Orme of the Conwy river estuary, Conwy Castle, and the Snowdonia range of mountains.

North Wales Golf Club, Llandudno, Conwy County
North Wales Golf Course is situated on the west coast of the Creuddyn Peninsula in North Wales in the sunny holiday resort of Llandudno with views of Anglesey and the Snowdonia Mountain range. It is a true links course of Championship standard, hosting the Welsh Team Championships in 1995. We are sure you will find the course invigorating and challenging. It is not only a trial of ability but allows the golfer to relax and enjoy the exhilarating air and the magnificent scenery of the North Wales coast.

Old Colwyn Golf Club, Old Colwyn, Conwy County
Old Colwyn Golf Club founded in 1907 and designed by James Braid, (he seems to have been a very busy man) is a 9 hole meadowland course and situated within a mile of the A.55 Chester-Holyhead Coastal Road (See Map). The Course has excellent views of the Welsh hills and the panoramic view of the Irish Sea and the bay of Colwyn Bay from the 9th/18th makes one want to linger a little longer before putting out. The signature hole of Old Colwyn is the Par 3 (7th/16th). With a tee shot of 162 yards the ball requires to carry all the way over three oak trees to the green, although there is a "bale out" area for the less able or adventurous golfer. The clubhouse has changing facilities, a bar and dining area.........

With mountains as a back drop and the coastline in front, Penmaenmawr (Pen) is as challenging in golf as it is stimulating in scenic beauty. When the view is as magnificent as seen on a balmy summers day, it is worth enduring some of the slopes on the course.
