Deganwy
sits on the Eastern bank of the River Conwy ( Afon Conwy ) 2 miles
South of Llandudno
on
the Creuddyn peninsula. The dawn of the 21st Century has seen the small
town being revitalised with the new marina and the Quay Hotel opening
in 2006. The luxury hotel is perfectly positioned with fantastic views
of the estuary, Conwy Castle, Conwy mountain and hills of Snowdonia.
There is debate in Wales about the benefits of marina developments and
the effects on the Welsh language but there is no doubt that this development
will bring trade to Deganwy and the surrounding area for who could resist
berthing their boat in such a picturesque setting?
And you would be hard pressed to find a nicer outlook when enjoying a
snack at the tables that front the hotel. But from what I have heard about
the price of a pint of beer I don't think they will be catering for many
locals !
